ABOUT
B R E A K F A S T
A full, tasty and nutritious sit-down breakfast is served
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 8:30-8:45 a.m.
And . . .
A less elaborate yet satisfying and convenient picnic-style breakfast
is provided in guestrooms the prior evening
for Wednesday and Sunday mornings.
- BENEFIT -
This schedule allows guests, particularly those with extended stays,
increased flexibility on the picnic-style breakfast days.
With a portion of important morning time freed up on these two days
it is possible, if desired, to get out early for the day's activities or just sleep in . . .
thus creating a more relaxing, fulfilling and versatile vacation overall.
- OFF SEASON EXCEPTION -
During the Off Season, a full sit-down breakfast is served every morning
between 8:45-9:00 a.m.
- THE ANTIQUES SHOP DOUBLES AS THE BREAKFAST ROOM. GUESTS ARE SERVED AT ANTIQUE TABLES.
These nostalgic surroundings encourage conversation and bring to mind, for many guests, fond memories.
- JUICE OR MILK (CHOICE) IS SERVED PRIOR TO FOOD. (Fruit may also be served prior to other food.)
- NOTE: FOOD PORTIONS ARE GENERALLY CONSIDERED SO GENEROUS THAT LUNCH FOR MANY IS NOT NEEDED . . .
BUT, IF YOU STILL HAVE A HANKERING FOR MORE AFTER CLEANING UP YOUR PLATE, YOU JUST ASK!
THERE IS ALMOST ALWAYS EXTRA OF SOMETHING.
- A COMPLIMENTARY ESPRESSO-BASED OR TEA BEVERAGE (NOT A FRAPPE OR SMOOTHIE) IS ROUTINELY OFFERED
TO ADULTS DURING BREAKFAST, AFTER FOOD IS SERVED.
FOR EXAMPLE: Americano, Cappuccino, Chokecherry Latte, Mocha, or a brewed tea.
IF WE FORGET TO OFFER, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET US KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE.
- GUESTS WHO FEEL THE NEED FOR COFFEE OR TEA BEFORE BREAKFAST -
A 4-CUP COFFEEPOT AND COFFEE FIXINGS, PLUS
SEVERAL FINE SINGLE-SERVE BEVERAGE CHOICES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN YOUR ROOM.
This DOES apply to Mountains To Prairies VACATION WITHOUT BREAKFAST OPTION.
Reminder . . .
Except for the Off-Season Exception,
the full sit-down breakfast is served somewhere between 8:30-8:45 a.m.
If during your stay you realize the need to leave earlier
than that timeframe on your last morning
and it is a full sit-down breakfast day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday),
then, with previous day notice, we are happy to provide some mini-muffins or similar,
whole fruit, and juice or milk to go. See above, regarding coffee.
If you are not a breakfast-minded family
or wish to be out earlier than the scheduled time for breakfast,
yet are interested in unique and beautiful lodging,
or just want to have a completely free-style vacation,
we do offer a cost-beneficial alternative for you . . .
— VACATION Without Breakfast OPTION —
Provides $15/Night Discount for Double Occupancy
- that means, in addition to our other special rate reductions -
and $5/Night Discount for each Additional Guest.
At least three eateries that serve breakfast
are within walking distance of Mountains To Prairies,
and one of them is less than a block away.
-
Smiling Bear Antiques Shop and Espresso Bar hours are typically
10:00-5:00, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

THANK YOU
Guest Comments
2007 - We thank you for providing such a welcoming, beautiful, and cozy getaway. It is just what we wanted and needed, just like last year. You both made it feel like we were coming home. The meals you prepared for us were absolutely scrumptious, and added to another memorable experience. Thank you for sharing your home and yourselves with us.
2008 - We feel so blessed to have found your piece of heaven here on earth, Linda and Sam. The hospitality you provide is beyond compare and keeps us coming back for more. Breakfast was again absolutely scrumptious, and your chili is delicious, as is the bread, and jellies. Thank you for sharing all this with us. We will be back for more.
2010 - We again enjoyed you and your home . . . we feel so welcome and comfortable each time we come. We will most certainly be back for another opportunity to visit and feast on a scrumptious breakfast. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. The birthday "muffin" was so tasty and made me feel extra special! Our love to you.
2011 - Oh my gosh, you outdid yourselves again! We so love coming to see you. You've made Smiling Bear (M2P) into a very welcoming, inviting retreat that we so enjoy. Thank you for sharing your home and hearts with us. You both are such a beautiful blessing in our lives. And the breakfasts you create each time so awesome! Our love to you. P.S. The pumpkin cheesecake was such a surprise - it is scrumptious. You spoil me (us) each time.
2012 - We again enjoyed "coming home". You both make your home a place we can't hardly wait to come back to each year. Words can't begin to express how much we love each of your suites. We'll be back and mostly we'll be back to see the two of you. The pumpkin coffee cake was DELICIOUS! Your creations are always a treat!!! Thank you so much! Love to you.

Mountains To Prairies Bed and Breakfast . . . for extended families, too!
Hey Seezco! If you marry pretty senorita and then some day . . .
ahhh . . . what we gonna do with grandchildrens if you gets some?
Oh Pancho, how you do not know this?
Of course we take them to see Roy and Dale
at the porchero of Sam and Linda, in the mountain country,
you know, up there in the Black Heels, in Dakota Territory.
-
Early in the summer of 2008
Sam brought home with the groceries
two dvd sets, one set of the original 1950s Cisco Kid episodes
and the other of the 1950s Adventures of Robin Hood series.
We were well into these with our two visiting granddaughters
when one of them asked, Do you not like Roy Rogers anymore?
